Iraqi Vet Brides can get free Bridal Dresses, & other ways one can help the troops

Dear Friends:

Today, we have some important information to give you about FREE wedding dresses for military brides and about an important project pro-troop radio talk show host, Hughes Sullivan, is working on.

But first, I have to brag a little bit about the wonderful volunteers who have been coming in 7 days a week to label and pack boxes of goodies for our troops.  As you know, Move America Forward is powered by volunteers.  And, wow, do we have great volunteers in Sacramento who have been literally working their fingers to the bone.  So I wanted to share some pictures I have taken of the laborious, but fun, work we have been doing - all with so much love for our troops.

Volunteers Putting Together Troop Care Packages

The orders are still coming in for Gatorade, jerky, sunscreen, deodorant, and the many other great products we’re sending in our care packages, and we’ve been scrambling to pack them up as quickly as possible ever since the huge success of the “From the Front Lines” telethon.

Dozens if not hundreds of dedicated volunteers have assisted us at our newly expanded shipping location in downtown Sacramento, CA, but there’s still work to be done.  Our Production Manager, Donald Lacombe, needs more help if you can lend a hand.

Not only do we have to label individually each item with the heartfelt personal messages of individuals from across the country, we have to pack the postal boxes, put on mailing labels, attach custom forms and even insert batteries so the personal fans are ready to go when they arrive in Iraq and Afghanistan.

To join the effort as a volunteer at our location in the Astro building at 11th and H streets in downtown Sacramento, call Donald at (916) 833-7568.  He’s there 7 days a week and he’s got mountains of goodies bound for our troops.  Nothing is more gratifying that packing these boxes and reading the wonderful messages going to the troops from Americans who sponsored these boxes.

A huge “Thank You” goes out to every one of you who has worked so selflessly to get all these much-needed supplies shipped to our deserving troops overseas.

Iraq in Their Own Words Documentaries

Many of you already know Hughes Sullivan, the pro-troop radio talk show host of the Hughes Sullivan Show.  You may remember that he participated in our webcast, coming live from Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, with senior military officials from the war college whose plain-spoken words about the troops, care packages, family struggles, and their mission grabbed eyeballs and heartstrings.

Hughes is working on an important project to get the truth about Iraq out to the American people.  We hope you will check out a very necessary and timely documentary project he’s hard at work on now by going to the following site today:  http://iraqintheirownwords.com

“Iraq in Their Own Words:The Surge; The Women of Iraq; and The Future of Iraq: Counterinsurgency at Work”, is a series of 3 multi-part documentaries for television, that will not only begin to shed light on the momentous events in Iraq but will tell the real story of the great work our men and women in the armed forces are doing everyday to protect this great country.

These documentaries will provide unparalleled insights from key U.S. and Iraqi officials, as well as our brave soldiers and everyday Iraqi citizens.  Viewers will get the inside story, as told by the participants themselves, whose voices have been absent for too long.

For our freedom, our national security, our children’s future, and our economic future, it is critically important to successfully finish the mission in Iraq. The project cannot get done without support from the pro-troop movement.  If you would like to support this project, take a look at this website today and spread the word: http://iraqintheirownwords.com

“Iraq in Their Own Words: Counterinsurgency at Work” are more than documentaries; they are comprehensive stories with an array of supporting materials including a print and audio book, and an interactive online component. Developed by Hughes Media Productions, “Iraq in Their Own Words: Counterinsurgency at Work” is produced by Tim Watkins of Leo McWatkins Films, the company behind the award-winning Cold War documentary, “In the Face of Evil: Reagan’s War in Word and Deed.”

This documentary campaign is intended to raise awareness, draw attention to the truth, pay tribute to those that have made the sacrifices for us, and provide the tools and materials for us all to share and awaken those sitting on the sidelines. Time is of the essence and they will complete filming in the next 6-8 weeks.

If you have any questions about this project, please call Hughes Media Productions at 313-884-2747 or email them at hughesmediaprod@aol.com.
